About Me:
Breast imaging has evolved over the past three decades. I have had the privilege of participating in this subspecialty from its infancy to its current multimodality, high-tech status. After graduating from Tufts Medical School in 1987, I took a position in the Surgical Department at Kings College Hospital in London while my husband, Dr. Henry Frissora, completed a surgical fellowship in Breast and Vascular Surgery. It was during this year that I learned about breast cancer in depth, honed my clinical skills at a busy London breast center and was exposed to the nuances of breast surgery, often serving as first assistant.
Concurrently, Kings College Hospital was serving as a pilot site for screening mammography during the initiation of the National Breast Cancer Screening Program in the UK. I was privy to listen in on meetings between government officials, expert public health officials and the medical leaders in breast health as they hashed out their strong views which often erupted in heated debates. Little did I know how this solid background would serve as a launching pad to my future professional career.
I am proud to be part of a team of solid, devoted breast imagers, fully committed to embracing new technologies as they prove worthy, in order to ensure that our department remains at the cutting edge for the community in which we serve.
And yes, I do enjoy my free! I am a Bikram yoga enthusiast, having practiced many forms of yoga for over 20 years. I enjoy alpine skiing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and boating. I dabble in golf and paddle sports. But mostly, I enjoy spending time with family and friends over a home cooked meal!
